Age limit for participants is 12 to 40 years only. ID proof (Aadhaar card, Pan card or any other valid proof) is compulsory.
Contest will be in two categories i.e. first group of age 12 to 25 years & second group of age 26 to 40 years.
Participants must fill online form for entry and obtain the participation token by paying fees online.
Any kathak lerner can participate as there no minimum education criteria for participating in the Kathak Ashwamedh.
First round will be based on recorded music which participant should bring in MP3 format. (Full sequence should be in one file)
Participant must submit his/her MP3 recording along with the token one hour prior to the contest, at venue.
Performance timing should not be more than 8 mins. Extended performance than set time limit may cause disqualification. In any case fees will not be refunded.
Participant need to present a solo recital of 5 to 8 minutes in traditional format for the first round. Presentation should be divided as 4-5 min. Technical (Taal) and 3-4 min. Abhinaya.
Date & Venue will be declared and informed to participants personally 15 days prior to the contest as per their choice of city.
We may ask participants to reach nearest center in case the quorum of any centre is less than 15. In that case prior information will be given.
Participants are expected to perform in the traditional Kathak costume with Ghungroos.
There will be panel of 3 Internationally acclaimed dancers and rhythmist as Judges to decide.
Judges can stop the performance by playing buzzer any time after 3 mins if the performance is not up to the mark.
Decision of the panel will be final, no objections of any sort will be entertained.
If qualified for second round, participants will be invited at zonal centres for second round.
In second round Participant need to present a solo recital of 12 to 15 minutes in traditional format with live 3-4 musicians. Presentation should be divided as 8-9 min. Technical (Taal) and 5-7 min. Abhinaya.
Only 5 mins will be given for stage preparation, instrument tuning on stage.
If qualified for final round participants will be invited at Delhi.
In third and final round participant need to present a solo recital professionally for 45 minutes in traditional format with live 3-4 musicians. Presentation should be divided as Technical (Taal) and Abhinaya.
Organising team holds the rights to amend the rules and regulations time to time without any prior notice.
