Pt. Swapan Choudhary

Pandit Swapan Chaudhary Torch berear of Luckhnow Gharana held 3 day workshop In collaberation of Nirzar and SCZCC. Tabla students from all over Vidarbha and even Maharashtra attended the workshop and leared nuances of Luckhnow Gharana from him.


Terracotta Workshop, Nagpur,
Dt. 10th April- 20th April 2004

Shri Algoo Chaudhary from Gorakhpur the northern state of Uttar Pradesh was invited to teach the increasingly rare art form of Terracotta (earthern sculpture and pottery) to an enthusiastic group of budding artistes. Shri. Algoo Chaudhary has received the President of India’s award in the year 2004 for his contribution to his field. He was also felicitated by Nirzar for this achievement in the dance festival Nrityotsav organized by Nirzar.


Tabla and Dance Workshop – Nagpur

Dt. 13th to 15th Dec. 2002

Ms. Shama Bhate and Pt. Suresh Talwalkar conducted this workshop. Over 50 students learnt Kathak intricacies from Ms. Shama Bhate and layakari from Pt. Suresh Talwalkar a renowned Tabla Navaz. Pt., Talwalkar also conducted joint sessions, where Tabla artists played and Kathak students performed.


10 day Dance Workshop – Nagpur,
Dt. 16th to 26th May 2001

This was a unique experience for all those 40-45 students Learning from someone like Pt. Gangani for 10 days was a real treat, for Panditji style sticks to Guru Shishya tradition, where he teaches many other things than merely teaching Kathak.

On popular demand of students, Pt. Gangani agreed to conduct one more, Kathak workshop followed by a rare performance in a Dance & Music festival. More than 100 students attended and were benefited by close interaction with Panditji.


Dance workshop – Nagpur
Date: 21st to 25th June 2000.

This time we invited Smt. Rekha Nadgauda to conduct a workshop. A disciple of Late Shri Gopikrishna, Smt. Rekha is a well known Kathak exponent of Banaras gharana. For five days, this performance par excellence enriched over 70 students and performers from Vidarbha. Apart from demonstrations of Padannaysa, layakari, bhava and abhinaya; she also imparted many practical tips and students responded with equal eagerness and zeal.


Dance workshop Gwalior
Dated: 29th to 31st Aug.’99.

Mrs. Sadhana Naphade – President of Nirzar Kala Sansthan conducted this workshop to commemorate memories of her Kathak Guru – Late Shri Bapusaheb Shinde. The legendary Gwalior gharana vocalist Pt. Balasaheb Poochwale inaugurated this 3 day workshop held at Kala Vithika – Gwalior.The expressed purpose of Organizing the workshop was “Popularizing Indian Classical dance” amongst students in particulars it attached more than 100 school kids and quite a few art lovers.


Kathak workshop
Dated: 28th to 31st May 99

Pt. Rajendra Gangani the well known Kathak doyen and Guru of Jaipur gharana conducted this advanced workshop. Attended by more than 60 promising performers; the workshop was a unique experience. Apart from guidance and tips and various technicalities of Kathak, Pt. Gangani also taught professionalism. A grand success, the performers went back happily charged with renewed enthusiasm.


Dance workshop – Nagpur
Dt. : 2nd, 3rd and 4th Jan. 1998

This 3-day workshop was conducted by well known Kathak dancer Ms. Shama Bhate, Importance of Guru-Shishya Tradition was the focal point of workshop, while giving the students an insight into the reflect National happenings in the field of classical dancing, was the additional highlight. Nearly 60 students from Vidarbha attend this 3-day workshop. Since the students spent all of 72 hours, in Ms. Shama Bhate’s company, they were able to pick up many professional tips and nuances.
