Late Pt. Jeetendra Abhisheki – Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki (21 September 1929 – 7 November 1998) was an Indian vocalist, composer and scholar of classical, semi-classical, and devotional music. While he distinguished himself in Hindustani music, he was singlehandedly responsible for the revival of the Marathi musical theatre in the 1960s with his beautiful compositions.

Lt. Pt. Kumar Gandharva or Shivaputra Siddramayya Komkalimath was a Hindustani classical singer, famous for his unique vocal style, refusal to be bound by the tradition of any gharana, and his innovative genius. The name Kumar Gandharva is a title given to him when he was a child prodigy; a Gandharva is a musical spirit in Hindu mythology.

Late Padmashree Manik Varma (1920 – November 10, 1996) is considered the doyen of Hindustani classical Music from the Kirana Gharana, most known for her song, Amrutahuni Goad. She also excelled in semi-classical and light music like Thumri, Marathi Natya Sangeet, Bhavgeet and Bhakti geet (Devotional Music). She was a discple of Hirabai Barodekar, daughter of Abdul Karim Khan (1872-1937), the founder of the Kirana Gharana.

Lt. Mogubai Kurdikar
(July 15, 1904 – February 10, 2001) was a renowned Hindustani classical music vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. Mogu Kurdikar was born in a Gomantak Maratha Samaj community in the village of Kurdi in the then Portuguese Goa. When she was ten years old, her mother, Jayashreebai, took her to the temple at Zambavli, and arranged for a wandering holyman to teach music to Mogu for a while. Later she took Mogu to a traveling theater company, the Chandreshwar Bhootnath Sangeet Mandali, and the company took Mogu in as an actress.

He was known for his mastery of the finger techniques and aesthetic values of various tabla styles, technical virtuosity, formidable stage presence, and soulful musicality. While he had command over the traditional tabla repertoire of various gharanas, he was also distinguished by the way in which he brought together these diverse compositions, his reinterpretation of traditional methods of improvisation, and his own compositions. His solo recitals were of the first to elevate the art of playing tabla solo to an art in its own right in the popular mind.
